Barley Crops

Barley is a fall planted crop with little to no requirements of irrigation, and has ability to cope better with drought and salinity, compared to other cereals. Furthermore, barley requires much less nitrogen fertilization than does wheat, making it an excellent choice as a sustainable crop for CA. Importance of Barley: The California Craft Beer Association statistics (www.californiacraftbeer.com), for October 2019, reported 1,039 craft breweries in California, producing more craft beer per year than in any other state.
